The Golden State Warriors notched a 111-103 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in their preseason debut at Chase Center on Sunday. Golden State moved to 1-0, while the Lakers dropped to 0-2 following an opening loss to the Suns.
The Warriors held a slim 32-31 lead after the first quarter, then extended it to 62-55 by halftime with efficient scoring. A dominant 40-25 third quarter created separation, though the Lakers outscored Golden State 23-9 in the fourth.
Moses Moody paced the home team with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including five threes. Stephen Curry contributed 14 points and two assists in limited minutes, shooting 5-of-7 from the field.
Brandin Podziemski added eight points and four assists, making two of four from deep. The Warriors connected on 46.4% of field goals and 17 of 43 threes at 39.5%.
Gabe Vincent led the Lakers with 16 points and five assists, hitting three of seven threes. Dalton Knecht scored 12 off the bench, converting two of seven long-range tries.
Golden State tallied 42 points in the paint and 23 on fast breaks. Both sides committed 18 turnovers, with the Warriors turning theirs into 22 points.
The Warriors grabbed 44 rebounds, including 13 offensive boards for second chances. Los Angeles secured 43 total but struggled with efficiency at 41.7% from the field.
One lead change marked the early action, followed by two ties. Golden State scored 24 points off extended possessions and forced seven steals.
Rui Hachimura finished with four points and three rebounds for the visitors. Draymond Green had two points and five assists in 14 minutes, though three turnovers showed rust.
Bench units were close, with Golden State’s reserves edging 59-57. Players like Moody provided the crucial lift in the third.
Los Angeles narrowed the gap to eight in the fourth but couldn’t close further. The Warriors held steady to secure the victory.
