Marco Belinelli will continue his association with Virtus Bologna, the club announced, serving as both Brand Ambassador and Basketball Advisor.

The 39-year-old, who recently retired from professional basketball, captained Virtus for the past four seasons and helped secure the club’s 17th Italian league title in June.

Virtus President Massimo Zanetti confirmed Belinelli’s role will extend across institutional, commercial, and sporting areas of the organization.

Belinelli’s career spans more than two decades, including a notable NBA tenure with teams such as the San Antonio Spurs, where he won an NBA championship in 2014.

In addition to his NBA achievements, he returned to Italy in 2020, helping Virtus Bologna win two Italian league titles and a EuroCup championship.

He also earned multiple domestic honors, including Lega Serie A MVP in 2024 and Domestic Player of the Year in 2023.

Belinelli’s sharpshooting and veteran leadership made him a key figure in both NBA playoff rotations and the Italian league, serving as a mentor to younger teammates.
