After bidding farewell to long-time captain Branko Lazić and veteran center Luka Mitrović, Crvena Zvezda has confirmed yet another departure from its core roster.
This time, it is guard Nemanja Nedović, one of the most recognizable figures of the Belgrade club in recent years, who is parting ways with his boyhood team.
The news was made official by the club on Monday, marking the end of Nedović’s second spell in red and white.
The 34-year-old returned to Zvezda in 2022 and went on to feature in 315 games, amassing 3,042 points while helping the club lift six trophies during this stint – among them, the ABA League title, three Radivoj Korać Cups, and two Serbian championships.
In its statement, the club emphasized both Nedović’s sporting impact and his role as a leader off the court:
“Nemanja Nedović will not be part of KK Crvena zvezda Meridianbet’s roster in the 2025–2026 season.
Just like with all the players who paved the way for Crvena zvezda to become the respected and esteemed EuroLeague club with numerous trophies that it is today, KK Crvena zvezda – together with president Željko Drčelić, the Board of Directors, management, and all employees—expresses deep gratitude to our Nedo for everything he has done as a Crvena zvezda player, both on and off the court.
Because of all this, this is only the end of one chapter, as the doors of KK Crvena zvezda will always remain open for our Nemanja!
Nedo, your KK Crvena zvezda Meridianbet wishes you lots of luck, health, and success in the continuation of your career!”
The departure of Nedović further signals a changing of the guard at Crvena Zvezda. With several senior leaders stepping away this summer, the team will be entering the 2025–26 campaign with a notably different identity.
For fans, however, Nedović’s legacy remains firmly intact: a local talent who returned home, delivered trophies, and gave everything to the club he grew up supporting.
