Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum shared a positive update on his rehabilitation from a torn Achilles tendon. “Rehab is tedious… It’s starting to get a little better, I’m out the boot now. Better days ahead,” Tatum said.

Tatum suffered the injury during a playoff game on May 12 and underwent surgery shortly afterward. Despite the setback, recent public appearances suggest his mobility is improving.

Earlier this month, he attended the New England Patriots’ training camp and joined Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new early education center. Observers noted Tatum moving with more ease during both events.

Celtics team president Rich Gotham highlighted the forward’s progress. “He’s gone from walking around in a boot and just kind of wiggling his toes to, as you see him today, he’s walking around a little more freely,” Gotham said.

Gotham refrained from projecting a potential return date but praised Tatum’s dedication. “What I know about JT is that he’s going to do everything he can to put us in the position to make a decision,” he added.

Last season, Tatum averaged 28.1 points, 5.4 assists, and 11.5 rebounds over eight playoff games before the injury. He has been a six-time All-Star and remains a cornerstone of the Celtics’ lineup.
