FC Barcelona confirmed that Youssoupha Fall will continue with the club for the 2025/26 campaign, extending his stay after a strong debut year.
During his first season in Blaugrana colors, Fall featured in 63 games, establishing himself as a consistent presence in the paint and earning praise for his team-first approach, as he “always put the team before individual performance.”
In a video message recorded from Dakar, Fall expressed both his gratitude and determination to keep contributing to Barça.
“I’m very happy to continue at Barça next season. I will give my best for you and for the team,” he said.
General Manager Juan Carlos Navarro emphasized how much the club values Fall’s attitude and commitment.
“He has shown from day one that he wants to be a Barça player. We have always valued his continuity because he is very appreciated by his teammates and by the Club.”
Navarro underlined the importance of having players who are fully invested in being part of Barcelona’s project.
“For us, it’s essential to have players who genuinely want to be here and make the effort to show it.”
He also provided insight into the sporting decisions that influenced the roster structure, especially in the frontcourt.
“The team’s setup with Jabari Parker and other potential moves affected the composition of the squad, particularly the interior game. As the weeks went by, we were able to secure Fall, which makes us very happy.”
On Fall’s specific role, Navarro praised his physical presence and the balance he brings to the team’s rotation.
“He gives us presence and physical impact, affecting opposing teams. He complements Vesely well… and Willy, who excels in one-on-one post-ups and pick-and-roll situations.”
Navarro also addressed the broader challenges of the transfer market, pointing out how global basketball trends are reshaping player movement and availability.
“Most young players aim for the U.S. college system, the NBA is far ahead economically, the EuroLeague has expanded from 18 to 20 teams with enormous financial power, and the Asian and Australian markets are only growing. These factors have led many players, who originally were not expected to stay at their clubs, to be retained. They have also increased the value of many others, making signings more difficult. In Spain, we are limited by the number of foreign players, which forces us to fine-tune our selection even further.”
With the Fall season secured for another year, Barcelona ensures stability in the paint and strengthens its roster ahead of the challenges to come in both Liga Endesa and the EuroLeague.
