Bradley Beal’s future with the Phoenix Suns remains uncertain as buyout discussions intensify. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Suns want to move on from Beal after a disappointing 36–46 season.
Beal, who averaged 17.0 points on 49.7% shooting last year, struggled to find his role behind Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Phoenix’s recent trade of Durant signals a youth-focused rebuild that likely leaves Beal out.
A direct trade for Beal is complicated by his full no-trade clause and remaining $100 million on his contract. His $57.1 million player option for 2026–27 further limits trade options.
League executives estimate Beal’s market value closer to the mid-level exception, around $14 million for 2025–26. This gap makes a buyout a more likely solution for both sides.
Sources told Barry Jackson that Beal “still likes Miami,” making the Heat a possible landing spot if a buyout occurs. However, he may also have other offers from teams better positioned to compete immediately.
Beal has reportedly expressed interest in destinations that offer stability for his family, narrowing potential suitors. The Suns aim to clear cap space and rebuild around Booker and Jalen Green after trading Durant.
Phoenix is also exploring moves involving Nick Richards, Grayson Allen, and Royce O’Neale, according to Stein. Beal’s departure could accelerate the Suns’ roster reshaping plans.
Beal joined the Suns in June 2023, traded from Washington in exchange for Chris Paul and picks. The Suns hoped to form a dominant scoring trio, but injuries and fit issues prevented that vision from materializing.
If a buyout is agreed upon, Miami could gain a proven scorer at a reasonable cost. The Heat’s interest aligns with their pattern of acquiring experienced talent to remain competitive.
