The Orlando Magic have agreed to terms with free-agent guard Tyus Jones on a one-year contract worth $7 million, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
Jones, 28, joins the Magic after spending the previous season with the Phoenix Suns on a one-year, $3 million deal.
The guard has built a reputation as a reliable point guard with strong playmaking skills. Over his 10-year NBA career, he has averaged 7.7 points and 4.4 assists per game, showcasing efficient shooting with a career field goal percentage of 44.5%.
Last season in Phoenix, Jones averaged 10.2 points and 5.3 assists while shooting 44.8% from the field and 41.4% from beyond the arc.
Orlando, which finished the 2024-25 regular season with a 41-41 record and secured the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, is looking to add depth and experience to their backcourt. The Magic were eliminated in the first round by the Boston Celtics, who won the series 4-1.
Jones has appeared in 682 career regular-season games, including 218 starts, and brings playoff experience with appearances in multiple postseasons.
