Cedric Coward: I think I can fit the mold Desmond Bane had here

New Memphis Grizzly Cedric Coward sees himself fitting in just fine with the team (drafted 11th overall by the Portland Trail Blazers and traded to Memphis).

“I think what makes me a great fit is I’m able to be so versatile. Jack of all trades, Swish Army knife, whatever you want to say and whatever you want to call it — I think I fit the mold of any team, but especially the Grizzlies. You guys just got rid of Desmond Bane who’s a heck of a player — great shooter, great defender — and I think I can fit that mold just well. I’m not saying I’m Desmond Bane, but I’ve got to work to get there. But at the same time, you guys also have one of the best tandems in the league in Triple J (Jaren Jackson Jr.) & Ja [Morant] — and all my job is to come in there, impact winning, and make their jobs a lot easier.”
