The Sacramento Kings have made some notable changes to their basketball operations staff, parting ways with two veteran scouts, Scott Layden and Greg Stratton, according to Sean Cunningham of NBC Sacramento.
Layden, a highly experienced basketball executive, previously held prominent front office positions with the Utah Jazz, New York Knicks, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
He joined the Kings organization in 2022, bringing decades of scouting and management experience.
Stratton, another longtime scouting presence, had been with Sacramento since 2018 and contributed significantly to the team’s talent evaluation efforts over several seasons.
In addition to these departures, the Kings are welcoming back a familiar face. Garrius Adams is returning to the organization as a player development assistant under new head coach Doug Christie, per Cunningham.
Adams previously worked with the Kings from 2021 to 2023 in a similar capacity before spending the last two seasons on the coaching staff of the New Orleans Pelicans under head coach Willie Green.
His return marks a continued emphasis on player development as the Kings reshape their coaching and support staff.
