As part of their preparations for the 2025 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets have been actively evaluating a range of prospects through pre-draft workouts.
Earlier this week, the team hosted a group that included Dylan Cardwell (Auburn), Steven Crowl (Wisconsin), Chucky Hepburn (Louisville), and Jalon Moore (Oklahoma) for individual workouts, according to Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer.
On Thursday, the Hornets brought in another set of prospects: Obinna Anochili-Killen (Marshall), Eric Dixon (Villanova), Kobe Johnson (UCLA), and Julian Reese (Maryland).
These workouts are essential for Charlotte, as the franchise holds three significant selections in the upcoming draft: the 4th overall pick, along with the 33rd and 34th picks in the second round.
The team is evaluating both high-upside prospects and potential role players who could add depth to their roster.
Of the eight players recently brought in, Eric Dixon is the most highly regarded by ESPN, currently ranked No. 45 on the outlet’s latest big board.
While none of these names are expected to crack the top five, they are all considered potential second-round picks or undrafted signings, with a chance to earn a role through summer league or training camp.
These workouts give Charlotte a closer look at each player’s fit, skillset, and attitude as they aim to build around their young core and improve their depth heading into next season.
