Boogie Fland is headed to Gainesville. The former Arkansas point guard has committed to the University of Florida, as first reported by Shams Charania. Fland confirmed his decision to ESPN, marking a major offseason pickup for head coach Todd Golden and the defending national champions.
Fland entered the transfer portal after one season with the Razorbacks, where he averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds across 21 games. He shot 37.9 percent from the field and 34 percent from three while starting 18 contests.
His move follows a turbulent recruiting journey that began with a commitment to Kentucky in October 2023. That decision came after receiving over 30 Division I offers and multiple visits from then-Wildcats coach John Calipari.
However, Fland decommitted in April 2024 after Calipari left Kentucky to become the new head coach at Arkansas. Ten days later, the 6-foot-3 guard followed Calipari to Fayetteville.
Fland is now reversing course and joining Florida, which captured the 2025 NCAA championship under Golden in just his third season at the helm. The Gators’ up-tempo style and need for a lead guard made them an appealing landing spot.
Originally a five-star recruit according to ESPN and Rivals, Fland was also rated a four-star by 247Sports. He was a McDonald’s All-American in high school and entered college as one of the most heralded guards in his class.
