Stephen Curry has been cleared to begin light on-court activities following a medical reevaluation of his left hamstring strain on Wednesday.
According to the Golden State Warriors, Curry has shown encouraging signs in his rehabilitation process and is progressing well.
The team plans to reevaluate him again on Saturday to determine the next steps in his recovery timeline. Curry sustained the injury during Game 1 of the playoff series on Tuesday, May 6.
The Warriors are now facing elimination as they trail the Minnesota Timberwolves 3-1 in their best-of-seven first-round series.
They will need a victory in Game 5, scheduled for Wednesday in Minnesota, to keep their season alive.
If Golden State manages to win and extend the series, there’s a growing possibility that Curry could make his return in Game 6, which would take place Sunday at Chase Center in San Francisco.
Should the series go the distance, Game 7 is set to be played on Tuesday, May 20, back in Minnesota. Curry’s availability in the later stages could be pivotal in the Warriors’ hopes of staging a comeback.
