Following earlier reports that the Atlanta Hawks are exploring the possibility of hiring a player agent to lead their front office, NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer have confirmed that the executive search firm Sportsology, tasked with managing the hiring process, has contacted multiple agents to assess their interest in the role.

Among those reportedly approached is Austin Brown, who represents Hawks star guard Trae Young.

It’s still uncertain whether Atlanta will make any major decisions involving Young this offseason, but Stein and Fischer emphasize that the team is likely to be very active in trade discussions.

The Hawks are in a position to maneuver financially, with some cap flexibility and a couple of sizable trade exceptions at their disposal.

These factors put them in a strong position to take on contracts and gather assets, especially as a potential third-party facilitator in complex, multi-team trade scenarios.
