Pat Riley doesn’t believe the Miami Heat need to blow up the roster after a disappointing playoff run – but he’s also not convinced standing pat is the answer.

Speaking candidly at the season-ending press conference, the longtime team president said there’s “no doubt” that some level of change is needed.

“We probably won’t run it back,” Riley admitted, suggesting that while a total rebuild is off the table, tweaks are inevitable.

Despite a disheartening loss to Cleveland in the Play-In Tournament, Riley rejected the idea that Miami’s talent ceiling is reflected by those results.

“(That playoff series) might have put the final nail in thinking we got to tear everything apart and rebuild,” he said. “We’ve never done that. Thirteen times, we’ve always found a way to rebuild (into) a team that was respected, that was a contender.”
