Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey is currently managing a muscle injury in his right hand, which has been causing him noticeable discomfort.
The issue results in both pain and stiffness, particularly when he makes specific movements involving his right hand and arm. Despite the lingering effects of the injury, Giddey has no intention of sitting out the team’s upcoming high-stakes matchup.
“I’m good to go,” Giddey said. “Play-in game, must-win game, there’s no way I’m going to sit out.”
The 22-year-old, known for his versatility and court vision, emphasized that while the injury is bothersome, he can play through it.
As a pending restricted free agent, Giddey noted that his focus right now is on helping the Bulls survive and advance. He added that the injury will likely require further attention and possibly treatment once the season concludes.
“It’s just about managing the pain and staying as comfortable as possible during games,” Giddey explained. “It’ll definitely be something we look at more closely in the offseason.”
The Bulls will host the Miami Heat on Wednesday in the 9-vs-10 showdown of the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament.
A win would keep Chicago’s playoff hopes alive and earn them a trip to Atlanta on Friday, where they’d face the Hawks for the final eighth seed.
A loss, however, would officially eliminate them from postseason contention and send them into the NBA Draft Lottery.
