FC Barcelona has made a major commitment to veteran guard Kevin Punter, extending his stay through the 2027-28 season. The club announced the agreement on Tuesday, solidifying the 31-year-old as a key player for the foreseeable future.

Punter, who joined Barcelona before this season, has been a standout performer in the EuroLeague. He is currently ranked sixth in the league with 17.1 points per game over 30 appearances. His sharp shooting has made a significant impact, hitting 40.9% of his three-pointers and an exceptional 93.6% from the free-throw line.

The signing comes at a critical time for Barcelona, who are fighting for a postseason spot in the EuroLeague. With an 18-14 record, Barcelona is currently in seventh place and looking to advance to the playoffs.

Barcelona’s acquisition of Punter marks a new chapter for the veteran guard in his fifth EuroLeague team. He has previously played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Olympiacos Piraeus, Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, and Partizan Belgrade.

Throughout his EuroLeague career, Punter has established himself as one of the league’s most consistent scorers, averaging 15.0 points in 154 career games.
