The Minnesota Timberwolves secured a convincing 124-109 win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night, completing a four-game season sweep.

Julius Randle led Minnesota with 25 points, while Anthony Edwards added 20 despite missing the second quarter due to injury. The Timberwolves improved to 42-32, holding onto the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Edwards suffered a nose injury late in the first quarter when Kevin Durant’s arm struck him while attempting to intercept a pass. He remained on the floor for a minute before heading to the locker room but returned after halftime to a standing ovation from the crowd.

Phoenix struggled offensively, with Devin Booker managing just 10 points, tying his season low. He went scoreless in the first half and didn’t record his first points until the third quarter.

Durant paced the Suns with 23 points, while Collin Gillespie provided a surprising spark, scoring a career-high 22 points with nine assists. Phoenix dropped to 35-39, sitting 11th in the West and outside the Play-In Tournament picture.

The Timberwolves took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Suns 30-24 to build a 12-point halftime lead. Randle, Jaden McDaniels, and Naz Reid stepped up in Edwards’ absence, keeping Minnesota in command.

Minnesota’s defense limited Phoenix’s key scorers, holding Booker to 4-of-14 shooting and Ryan Dunn to just nine points. Rudy Gobert anchored the paint with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals.

The Timberwolves have now won seven straight games against the Suns, dating back to last season’s playoffs.

Phoenix has now lost two consecutive games after winning four straight. Bradley Beal remained sidelined for the sixth straight contest due to a left hamstring injury.

Minnesota shot 52.8% from the field and knocked down 19 three-pointers, compared to Phoenix’s 18 made threes on 48.6% shooting. The Timberwolves also won the rebounding battle 43-34.
