Stephen Curry addressed his struggles following the Golden State Warriors’ 114-105 loss to the Denver Nuggets, revealing that he has been dealing with a lingering back issue.

Speaking in his postgame press conference, Curry acknowledged his poor performance and linked it to his recent discomfort. “I feel like more so my back that I’ve been dealing with the last couple days. See how that responds tomorrow,” Curry said, via 95.7 The Game.

The Warriors’ star guard finished with 20 points and seven assists but struggled from deep, shooting just 4-for-14 from beyond the arc. Golden State’s seven-game winning streak came to an end as they dropped to 14-3 since Jimmy Butler’s debut.

Denver, playing without Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, relied on Aaron Gordon’s season-best 38 points to pull off the upset. Russell Westbrook contributed a triple-double with 12 points, 16 assists, and 12 rebounds, leading the Nuggets to their fourth win in five games.

Michael Porter Jr. added 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Peyton Watson chipped in 13 points as Denver shot 46.7% from the field. The Nuggets also held the Warriors to just 24.2% from three-point range, disrupting their offensive rhythm.

Golden State trailed by double digits early, missing 13 of its first 14 three-point attempts. Despite a late push in the fourth quarter, the Warriors couldn’t overcome their poor shooting, and a crucial three-pointer from Westbrook sealed the victory for Denver.

Curry, who turned 37 recently, is averaging 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game this season. He admitted frustration with his performance, taking accountability for his turnovers and decision-making. “Obviously, I didn’t play great at all, so everybody, including coach, is gonna try to figure out why,” Curry added.

Draymond Green recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists, becoming the sixth player in franchise history to reach 6,000 career rebounds. Gary Payton II provided a spark off the bench with 18 points and three steals, while Jonathan Kuminga added 13 points and four assists.

The Warriors will look to bounce back in their next game, but Curry’s back issue remains a concern as Golden State pushes for playoff positioning.
