Both the Phoenix Suns and Devin Booker have expressed their commitment to continuing their partnership, with the team planning to “pivot and reload” around him in the offseason.

Suns owner Mat Ishbia strongly dismissed any speculation of a Booker trade, calling it “silly” and emphasizing that having a superstar is crucial to winning a championship.

The Houston Rockets have shown repeated interest in Booker, seeing him as a perfect fit for their timeline with his proven ability and youth. The Rockets also own the Suns’ first-round picks for 2027 and 2029, fueling trade rumors.

Booker, who has been with the Suns since being drafted, has seen the team go from one of the worst in the league to NBA Finals contenders in 2021. Now, he’s determined to lead them back to that success.

“It’s a rare breed,” Booker told ESPN. “I take pride in the community in Phoenix, the people that have supported me since I was 18 when things were ugly. And the people that are with us, we just fell short of accomplishing what we want. So I want to do it, and I want to do it here.”

As a franchise player, Booker embraces the responsibility.

“That’s the responsibility of being a franchise player, and I wear that with honor,” he said. “So it might not look the most pretty right now, but we got to get it done and I’m going to do it.”

Booker is eligible to decline his $62.8 million player option for 2027-28 and could sign a three-year, $212 million extension this offseason, signaling his long-term commitment to the Suns.
