Stephen Curry made history by becoming the first player ever to hit 4,000 career three-pointers, a milestone he reached with a shot off a broken play in the third quarter, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.
As Youngmisuk highlights, the Golden State Warriors veteran guard has since surpassed 1,000 more long-distance shots after overtaking Ray Allen in 2021 to claim the all-time lead in three-pointers.
“It’s a clear milestone threshold,” Curry said. “A number that I didn’t think about, that it was realistic even from 2,974, which is a number that means the most because that was the record at the time. It’s beyond my wildest dreams to push a record that far.”
Curry has played 16 seasons for the Warriors. He has averaged 24.7 points, 6.4 assists and 4.7 rebounds in 1,013 regular-season games.
