Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is set to be sidelined for a minimum of one to two weeks as he recovers from a strained groin injury.

The veteran forward sustained the injury during Saturday night’s matchup against the Boston Celtics, a game in which the Lakers ultimately fell short.

The incident occurred midway through the fourth quarter, as James went down in visible discomfort.

Shortly thereafter, he was officially ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Following the game, James addressed the media, expressing that he was not overly worried about the severity of the injury.

He reassured reporters that, based on how it felt, the strain did not seem as serious as the groin injury he endured back in 2018 – a setback that forced him to miss several weeks of action at the time.

So far this season, James has been putting up impressive numbers, averaging 25.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game.

He had also developed strong on-court chemistry with Luka Doncic, which played a key role in the Lakers’ recent success.

Before Saturday’s loss, Los Angeles had been riding an eight-game winning streak, showcasing strong team performances.

Looking ahead, the Lakers face a challenging stretch in their schedule.

After facing the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, Los Angeles will navigate a grueling eight-day span that includes three sets of back-to-back games.

As of Sunday, the Lakers found themselves in a tight battle for positioning in the Western Conference standings, trailing the Denver Nuggets by just half a game for the No. 2 seed.
