Luka Doncic is all set for tonight’s highly anticipated game as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Dallas Mavericks at the Crypto.com Arena.

The Slovenian star, who was traded to the Lakers earlier this season, will be looking to make a significant impact on his new team. Doncic has been adjusting well, averaging 19 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game since joining Los Angeles.

Doncic made his debut on February 10 against the Utah Jazz, scoring 14 points in 24 minutes. Since then, the five-time All-Star has gradually increased his playing time and performance. On February 22, Doncic put up an impressive 32 points in a win over the Denver Nuggets.

Tonight’s game is especially significant for Doncic as it marks his first time facing his former team after the blockbuster trade. The deal saw the Mavericks send Doncic, along with Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris, to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick.

Dallas, however, will be without some key players, including former Laker Anthony Davis. Davis, who has been sidelined with a left adductor strain, will not be able to suit up for the Mavericks tonight.

The Mavericks are also dealing with several injuries, particularly at the frontcourt. Daniel Gafford (right knee sprain), Dereck Lively II (right ankle stress fracture), and Caleb Martin (right hip strain) are all out for tonight’s game. Dwight Powell (right hip strain) is listed as doubtful, and P.J. Washington (right ankle sprain) is questionable.

On the other hand, the Lakers will be close to full strength, with LeBron James listed as probable due to left foot injury management. Maxi Kleber remains out as he continues his recovery from right foot surgery.

The Lakers (34-21) are currently sitting fourth in the Western Conference and are 8-2 in their last ten games. They’ve been in excellent form recently, boasting a 14-4 record in their last 18 games.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks (31-27) are eighth in the Western Conference and have gone 5-5 in their last ten games. Despite their recent struggles, they’ll rely heavily on Kyrie Irving, who has been stepping up in the absence of Davis.

The Lakers will look to build on their strong form and maintain their playoff positioning, while the Mavericks aim to recover from their recent slump and stay in the playoff race.
