Paul George did not hold back after the Philadelphia 76ers suffered another brutal defeat, questioning the team’s ability to compete at a high level.

Following a 142-110 blowout loss to the Chicago Bulls, George expressed frustration over the Sixers’ struggles. “We’ve shown no sign of a team that will compete and, you know, we just don’t have the habits of a champion or a playoff contending team,” he said, per Adam Aaronson.

The 76ers have now dropped eight straight games, falling to 20-37 on the season. Their latest defeat came in a lopsided contest where they trailed by as many as 50 points.

Josh Giddey led the way for Chicago, putting up 25 points, 16 rebounds, and six assists in a dominant performance. Kevin Huerter added 23 points, while Zach Collins finished with 19.

The Bulls took control early, racing to a 21-12 lead after hitting three of their first four three-pointers. By halftime, they had put up a season-high 75 points and never looked back.

Philadelphia once again struggled without Joel Embiid, who remained out due to a knee issue. George and Kelly Oubre Jr. led the team with 19 points each, while Tyrese Maxey managed just 13 on an off night.

The Sixers’ defense was a major issue, allowing 39 points in the first quarter. It marked the third time in four games that they had surrendered at least 39 in the opening period.

Chicago shot 50.6% from the field and knocked down 18 three-pointers, punishing Philadelphia from beyond the arc. The Bulls also outrebounded the Sixers 47-44 and committed just 13 turnovers.

Injuries piled up for both teams, with Lonzo Ball exiting early due to a head laceration. Nikola Vucevic missed the game with left calf tightness, while Guerschon Yabusele and Quentin Grimes also left with injuries for Philadelphia.

The 76ers have now lost 10 of their last 11 games, falling 2.5 games behind the Bulls for the final play-in spot. Without Embiid, the team has struggled to find consistency on either end of the floor.

George, who is averaging 16.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists this season, has been vocal about the Sixers’ need to develop better habits. His comments signal growing concerns about the team’s mindset as they slide further down the standings.

With the playoffs slipping further out of reach, Philadelphia will need to regroup quickly to salvage what remains of their season.
