The NBA is currently awaiting a response from Glen Taylor, the majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, following a recent ruling in favor of Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez by an arbitration panel.
The panel’s decision has raised significant attention regarding the future ownership of the team. In response, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver expressed that he sees no reason why the sale of the Timberwolves wouldn’t be approved, as the process moves forward.
However, Silver clarified that he doesn’t want to preempt the decision of the Board of Governors, who will ultimately have the final say on the matter.
“I mean, that’s Glen’s decision to make,” Silver said. “I haven’t talked to him directly about that. I think, though, that A-Rod, certainly Marc Lore, are well-known to the league at this point. They’ve already been vetted and approved as minority owners.
“I think they understood that the league had no role in this arbitration. That was something they had agreed to as part of their purchase agreement.”
