Trae Young delivered a dominant performance, scoring 35 points and dishing out 14 assists as the Atlanta Hawks secured a 125-111 win over the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.

Zaccharie Risacher contributed 18 points, helping Atlanta (25-28) notch back-to-back victories for the first time since mid-January. Georges Niang made an impact in his Hawks debut, scoring 16 points after being acquired from Cleveland at the trade deadline.

Washington (9-43) saw a bright spot in rookie Carlton “Bub” Carrington, who posted a career-high 23 points. Jordan Poole added 21 points but struggled from beyond the arc, going 1-for-8 after dropping a career-best 45 points in his previous game.

Atlanta’s offensive execution proved decisive, with the team shooting 40.9% from three-point range compared to Washington’s 25%. The Hawks pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Wizards 41-25 to build a commanding lead.

Niang was one of three newly acquired players to make their debut for Atlanta. Caris LeVert, also arriving from Cleveland, tallied nine points in 15 minutes, while Terance Mann added four points in 25 minutes after joining from the Clippers.

The Wizards showed fight, trimming a 23-point deficit to seven in the fourth quarter, but their rally fell short. Poole’s extended shooting struggles from deep have now spanned four games, with his three-point percentage dipping below 30% in that stretch.

The Hawks saw contributions from their bench, with Vit Krejčí scoring 12 points and Larry Nance Jr. adding 14. Dyson Daniels, who started in the backcourt alongside Young, finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Washington’s Bilal Coulibaly finished with 17 points but shot just 6-of-20 from the field. Richaun Holmes and Justin Champagnie each scored 10 points, while Corey Kispert chipped in 13 off the bench.
