Kristaps Porzingis and Jaylen Brown powered the Boston Celtics to a 122-100 win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
Porzingis scored a season-high 34 points, including 26 in the first half, while knocking down a career-best eight three-pointers. Brown added 28 points, and Derrick White chipped in 22 to help Boston improve to 33-15 on the season.
The Celtics responded to their previous loss to the Houston Rockets by taking control early, building a double-digit lead within two minutes. Jayson Tatum finished with 16 points, and his back-to-back three-pointers in the third quarter pushed Boston’s lead to 86-62.
Coby White led Chicago with 16 points in his return after missing four games with an ankle injury. The Bulls struggled offensively without leading scorer Zach LaVine, who missed the game due to personal reasons. Chicago has now lost eight of its last nine games and sits at 20-28 on the season.
Porzingis dominated from the perimeter, hitting six threes in the first half to set the tone. Boston shot 40.9% from beyond the arc and held Chicago to just 30.6% from deep.
The Celtics’ defense held Nikola Vucevic to just six points, while Ayo Dosunmu and Patrick Williams were the Bulls’ only other double-digit scorers with 12 and 16, respectively.
