The Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns are reportedly discussing a potential trade centered around Bradley Beal. According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst on The Hoop Collective podcast, the talks are part of a larger multi-team framework involving the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler.

“The Bulls are absolutely involved in conversations with the Suns in the possible Jimmy Butler trade situation,” Windhorst said. “I know this is going to get aggregated, but the concept of Bradley Beal ending up in Chicago has been discussed.”

Beal, 31, is in the third year of a five-year, $215 million contract that includes a no-trade clause. This complicates any potential deal, as the veteran guard would need to approve any destination.

Beal has recently been moved to a bench role under Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer. Despite his diminished role, he is still averaging 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 32.9 minutes per game.

The Bulls, currently 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 19-27 record, could be exploring Beal as a way to bolster their backcourt. While no deal is imminent, the ongoing discussions suggest Chicago’s front office is considering all options to improve its roster.

Phoenix, sitting eighth in the Western Conference with a 23-21 record, is looking to shake things up as well. The Suns’ involvement in multi-team trade scenarios highlights their desire to maximize their roster’s potential during a tightly contested season.

The Miami Heat, also part of the discussions, are trying to satisfy Butler’s trade demand.

Windhorst tempered expectations by noting the uncertainty of the deal. “I’m not saying it’s going to happen or that it’s close,” he said. “But the concept has been discussed.”
