Mark Williams powered the Charlotte Hornets to a 117-112 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, setting a career high with 31 points while adding 13 rebounds. The victory snapped a seven-game road losing streak for Charlotte, improving their record to 9-28.

LaMelo Ball contributed 27 points, nine assists, and three blocks, while Miles Bridges recorded 25 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Miller rounded out the balanced attack with 20 points. The Hornets shot 53% from the field, with four players finishing with at least 20 points.

Utah, now 10-29 on the season, was led by rookie guard Keyonte George, who returned from a five-game absence to post 26 points and six assists. Brice Sensabaugh added 19 points off the bench, including a pair of key baskets during a 19-2 first-quarter run that gave the Jazz an early lead.

Charlotte fell behind by as many as 11 points in the opening period but clawed back with a strong second half. Bridges and Ball delivered back-to-back buckets late in the fourth quarter to give the Hornets a 98-97 edge. Although Utah briefly regained the lead with consecutive three-pointers by Sensabaugh and George, Charlotte sealed the game with a 9-0 run.

Williams’ dominance in the paint was a key factor, as the third-year center shot 12-of-14 from the field and added six offensive rebounds. Ball and Bridges also shot efficiently, combining to go 20-of-37 from the floor.

For Utah, the loss overshadowed a strong outing from George, who notched his sixth 20-point game of the season. Brice Sensabaugh provided a spark off the bench, while Isaiah Collier tallied a season-high 10 assists.

Despite the setback, the Jazz showcased depth in their rotation, with four players scoring in double figures. However, their struggles at the free-throw line (58.8%) and inability to contain Charlotte’s interior scoring proved costly.

Charlotte’s win highlighted their offensive cohesion, as the team finished with 27 assists on 45 made field goals. Their defense forced 18 Jazz turnovers, which they converted into crucial points during key stretches of the game.
