Darius Garland believes the Cleveland Cavaliers deserve significant recognition for their dominance this season. Following Cleveland’s thrilling 129-122 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, Garland stated his case for himself and three teammates to make the All-Star roster.

“I’m trying to be humble as possible. But … yeah, I should be an All-Star. Yes. There should be four of us on this team that are All-Stars,” Garland said, per Chris Fedor.

The Cavaliers improved to a league-best 32-4 record after ending Oklahoma City’s 15-game winning streak in a game that featured 30 lead changes. Cleveland’s balanced effort was spearheaded by Jarrett Allen, who posted 25 points, and Evan Mobley, who recorded 21 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Despite a rare off night for Donovan Mitchell, who managed just 11 points on 3-of-16 shooting, Cleveland’s depth shone through. Garland added 18 points and seven assists, while Max Strus contributed 17 points off the bench, knocking down five three-pointers.

Cleveland’s performance has put them in historic company, with only four teams achieving better records through 36 games: the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors, the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers, and the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers.

The Cavaliers’ latest victory solidified their undefeated record against Western Conference teams (11-0) and extended their home dominance to 19-1. Their current 11-game winning streak has further cemented their status as championship contenders.

While Cleveland thrived, Oklahoma City, now 30-6, showcased its own depth. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers with 31 points, while Jalen Williams added 25 points and nine assists. Isaiah Hartenstein nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists.

Garland’s push for four All-Stars reflects the Cavaliers’ collective success this season. Mitchell has been the team’s leading scorer, while Allen and Mobley anchor one of the league’s top defenses. Garland’s playmaking and scoring have been equally vital to Cleveland’s rise.
