The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat remain engaged in trade discussions centered around Jimmy Butler, with Bradley Beal as a key component in potential deals. Sources indicate the negotiations are ongoing, though no agreement has been finalized.

Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reported that the Suns are exploring scenarios involving Beal and Butler, contingent on Beal waiving his no-trade clause. Beal’s agreement is essential, and removing the clause could benefit the Heat if they proceed with the trade.

Butler, 35, is in the second year of a three-year, $146.4 million contract with Miami, which includes a player option for the 2025-26 season. Butler, averaging 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game, is expected to opt out of his deal to become a free agent after this season.

Beal, 31, is under a five-year, $251 million contract with Phoenix and holds a player option for the final year. Beal is averaging 18.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 33.7 minutes per game this season. While his no-trade clause complicates matters, his willingness to facilitate the deal could significantly impact the outcome.

The Heat currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 14-13 record, while the Suns hold the 11th spot in the West at 16-13. Both teams are seeking roster adjustments to strengthen their playoff positioning, making these discussions critical to their respective goals.
