Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has expressed his deep frustration and emotional toll from missing games due to ongoing knee issues. Despite his return to action on Sunday, Embiid remains candid about the challenges he has faced in recent months.

“Depressing,” Embiid told ESPN when reflecting on his struggles. “Just trying to figure it out. There’s no injury. Just between the swelling … we’ve got to get it figured out. That’s it.”

The All-Star center has been vocal about how difficult it has been to stay sidelined, emphasizing how much he values being on the court.

“I’ve been saying it for the last few months. It’s been extremely depressing. It’s something that hasn’t been figured out, and it’s been extremely annoying, because I would love to play every single game,” he shared.

While he continues to manage the lingering issues with his knee, Embiid underscores the importance of his health in determining his availability. “I think the whole thing is about health … that’s what it comes down to,” he said.

“I wish I could have been playing from the beginning. I would love to play every single game, every single minute, but sometimes your body just says, ‘No,’ and you can’t do nothing about it. All you can do is just keep working to fix it and get better.”

The situation highlights both Embiid’s passion for the game and the harsh realities of managing long-term health as a professional athlete.
