Kevin Huerter’s scorching 26-point performance, including six 3-pointers, propelled the Sacramento Kings to a commanding 141-97 win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night. The victory marks Sacramento’s third win in the past four games, improving their record to 12-13.
Sacramento’s offensive dominance continued, following their 140-point outing against the Spurs on Friday. The Kings shot an impressive 50% from beyond the arc, hitting 22 of 44 attempts, and finished the game with a sizzling 57% field goal percentage.
The Jazz, now 5-18, suffered their sixth loss in seven games. Utah never led in the game, with the Kings racing to a 20-point advantage by the second quarter. By halftime, Sacramento was in control, leading 62-45.
De’Aaron Fox, who added 21 points and nine assists, helped maintain the Kings’ lead with a clutch third-quarter buzzer-beater, increasing Sacramento’s margin to 31 points as the game entered its final frame.
Domantas Sabonis contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Doug McDermott added 18 points (six 3-pointers) in the fourth quarter alone.
Keyonte George led the Jazz with 25 points, but his efforts were not enough to overcome Sacramento’s offensive firepower. John Collins added 19 points, while Lauri Markkanen, returning from a back injury, struggled to find his rhythm, finishing with just eight points on 2-of-9 shooting.
Despite the loss, Utah’s bench outscored Sacramento’s reserves 38-21, with Brice Sensabaugh adding nine points off the bench. However, the Jazz were out-rebounded 43-38, which contributed to their inability to mount a comeback.
Sacramento’s offensive balance was evident with contributions from several players. Malik Monk added 16 points, and Keegan Murray had seven points, providing the Kings with scoring depth. Meanwhile, Huerter’s six 3-pointers and efficient 10-of-14 shooting were a key factor in breaking the game open.
