Tyler Herro erupted for 34 points as the Miami Heat defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-113 on Sunday night. Herro shot 10-for-19 from the field, including five three-pointers, and added seven assists and six rebounds.
Duncan Robinson contributed 23 points on 7-for-11 shooting, while Jimmy Butler tallied 18 points and five assists. Bam Adebayo added a double-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. Terry Rozier provided 14 points off the bench to help Miami secure its third consecutive win.
Cleveland’s Darius Garland led his team with 23 points and five assists, while Georges Niang contributed 15 points off the bench. Donovan Mitchell was held to 12 points on 5-for-16 shooting.
The Heat improved to 12-10. The Cavaliers, who fell to 21-4, still match the best 25-game start in team history despite the loss.
Herro’s performance included a dominant third quarter in which he scored 19 points, continuing his strong offensive stretch after dropping 21 points in a single quarter against the Lakers earlier in the week.
The Cavaliers suffered a setback in the first half when Evan Mobley exited with a sprained ankle after logging just 12 minutes. Without Mobley, Cleveland struggled defensively and allowed Miami to shoot 43.2% from three-point range.
Both teams were evenly matched in overall shooting, with each converting 41 of their 86 field goal attempts (47.7%). However, Miami capitalized on three-point opportunities, sinking 16 compared to Cleveland’s 14, and outscored the Cavs at the free-throw line, going 24-for-26 compared to Cleveland’s 17-for-18.
Duncan Robinson’s four three-pointers highlighted Miami’s offensive versatility, and Bam Adebayo controlled the paint with his rebounding and playmaking. The Heat also held a 47-36 advantage in total rebounds, including 10 offensive boards, which proved crucial in their victory.
For Cleveland, Georges Niang and Caris LeVert combined for 28 points off the bench, providing some much-needed scoring in Mobley’s absence. Ty Jerome added 14 points and six assists but could not close the gap as Miami maintained its lead throughout the fourth quarter.
