Phoenix Suns veteran Kevin Durant was forced to exit Tuesday’s win over the San Antonio Spurs shortly before halftime due to a sprained left ankle, according to ESPN’s Michael C. Wright.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer spoke with reporters after the game, revealing that Durant had not yet undergone an MRI and that there was no update on whether the veteran forward would miss any games.

“I think he stepped on somebody’s foot in transition, and I think at halftime it stiffened up,” Budenholzer explained. “We will have to evaluate him again in the morning, see how he feels coming out of it, see how he does overnight. I don’t really know a whole lot more than the report at halftime.”

The Suns are awaiting further assessments of Durant’s ankle to determine the severity of the injury and his potential timeline for recovery. The team will continue to monitor his condition over the coming hours.
