Kings guard Malik Monk revealed that the team plans to hold a meeting ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, as Sacramento looks to break a four-game losing streak.

“We’re gonna say something,” Monk shared with Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee. “I feel like we always say something after every loss, so (Tuesday) we’ll probably say something when we get to Minnesota.”

Monk’s remarks came after the Kings allowed 130 points in a disappointing loss to Oklahoma City on Monday. Monk emphasized that the team’s veterans need to take charge and step up, specifically naming De’Aaron Fox, DeMar DeRozan, and Domantas Sabonis as key voices in the locker room.

“I feel like we’ve got a veteran team now with a few young guys, so we know how to turn it around,” Monk continued. “Domas is going to say a few things, I’m going to say a few things, Fox will say a few things and DeMar will say a few things. We’ve got to turn it around quick, though.”

The Kings are hopeful that a collective effort from their experienced players will help shift the momentum and get them back on track.
