Paul George, who joined the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason after a long stint with the Los Angeles Clippers, recently made waves with comments about the Clippers’ fan support.

The veteran forward, who had been with the Clippers for several years, sparked controversy when he compared playing for Los Angeles’ second team to being part of the “B team” compared to the Lakers.

In a podcast appearance, George clarified his remarks, stressing that he never called the Clippers the “B team,” but admitted that it felt that way.

His comments came after a noticeable lack of fan turnout at Clippers’ home games, especially at their new Intuit Dome.

“’What did I say that was wrong? I did not call Clippers ‘the B team,’ I said it felt like the B team,” George explained. “But they proved me right. They aren’t packing out Intuit Dome. That’s y’all home… Go f—king support them,” he continued.

The Clippers, despite having a talented roster, have often been overshadowed by the Lakers in the city’s basketball landscape.

George’s comments have drawn a mix of reactions, with some fans agreeing with his assessment, while others feel it was an unfair criticism of the Clippers’ loyal fan base.
