Georgetown University’s women’s basketball team is facing backlash for paying tribute to a former player who was shot and killed by a police officer after she attacked him with a knife.
The Hoyas’ official X account shared a memorial post mourning Sydney Wilson’s “tragic loss” last month.
However, the post is now being criticized after newly released police body cam footage revealed that Wilson had slashed the officer’s face before he shot her.
