The Orlando Magic have signed former sixth overall pick Jarrett Culver. NBA insider Michael Scotto reported the agreement, stating that Culver, who was the sixth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, is joining the Magic.
Culver has averaged 6.5 points in 144 games over four NBA seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies, and Atlanta Hawks.
Last season, the 25-year-old guard showcased his skills in the G League, where he played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He averaged 20.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in 32.2 minutes.
His time with the Vipers allowed him to refine his game after limited opportunities in the NBA. Culver will look to bring that experience and scoring ability to the Magic, who continue to develop their young roster.
Although Culver has faced challenges during his NBA career, his performance in the G League suggests he has the potential to make an impact in Orlando. He now joins a Magic team looking to compete in the Eastern Conference and could benefit from a fresh start.
