Jasmine Sussex, a local mother and breastfeeding advocate with 15 years of experience, is now facing legal trouble for publicly stating that she doesn’t believe men can breastfeed. When a transgender man posted about breastfeeding his newborn, Jasmine responded by asserting that “only mothers breastfeed.”

As a result, she was dismissed as a volunteer by the Australian Breastfeeding Association following complaints, and her posts were removed by the eSafety Commissioner.

Jasmine is now facing a vilification claim under the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act, accused of promoting hatred and contempt for advocating that only mothers breastfeed.
