Kevon Looney spoke about Steph Curry’s performance in the gold medal game of the 2024 Paris Olympics, noting his anticipation for Curry’s standout moment.

Curry scored 24 points in the final, including 12 in the last three minutes, leading Team USA to a 98-87 victory over France.

Looney, Curry’s teammate with the Golden State Warriors, expressed his belief that Curry’s brilliance was inevitable.

“I was actually waiting for him to have his moment,” Looney told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Scoop B Radio.

He acknowledged that Curry’s performance, though it started slowly, was expected when the stakes were high.

Looney highlighted Curry’s ability to deliver in critical moments, a trait he anticipated during the game.

“He started off a little slow, you know? But when the games matter and it’s win or go home, he is always going to show up and put on a show and he did. So none of that was surprising and it was actually a lot of fun to see him being himself,” Looney added.

Curry’s explosive finish helped secure the gold medal for Team USA, reinforcing his reputation as a clutch performer.

Throughout the tournament, Curry averaged 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
