Former Sixers All-Star Theo Ratliff recently highlighted a key difference between Paul George and James Harden. According to Ratliff, George excels in areas where Harden has been lacking, particularly in defensive play.

In a discussion on Sirius XM’s NBA, Ratliff noted (h/t Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire), “One thing Paul George does that James Harden didn’t do is play defense.”

This remark comes after the Philadelphia 76ers signed George, who was previously with the Los Angeles Clippers.

George, known for his defensive prowess and scoring ability, represents a significant shift in the 76ers’ strategic approach. Ratliff emphasized that George’s defensive skills fill a gap left by Harden’s tenure in Philadelphia.

In addition to his defensive contributions, Ratliff praised George for his ability to work alongside other All-Stars. He stated, “He’s one of those guys that he wasn’t the All-American, the All-Star guy coming into the league.”

The acquisition of George is seen as a strategic move to enhance the team’s defensive capabilities. His presence is expected to bring a new dynamic to the 76ers, complementing their offensive assets with solid defensive support.

Philadelphia’s decision to sign George follows a period of intense scrutiny and change. The team’s recent trades and acquisitions have been aimed at bolstering their roster and improving their competitive edge.
