The Los Angeles Lakers have intensified their pursuit of 25-year-old center Wendell Carter Jr. from the Orlando Magic, reports Sean Deveney of Heavy.com.

Carter, who is currently under contract with the Magic for two more years on a four-year, $50 million deal, has garnered attention from the Lakers and a number of other teams with his consistent performance.

During the previous season, Carter showcased his versatility, averaging 11 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while logging an average of 25.6 minutes on the court.

The Lakers’ interest in Carter reflects their ongoing efforts to bolster their frontcourt and add depth to their roster ahead of the upcoming season.
