Ivica Zubac shared his thoughts on Paul George leaving the Los Angeles Clippers to join the Philadelphia 76ers.

George signed a four-year, $212 million contract with the Sixers after declining his player option with the Clippers.

Zubac expressed his sadness over losing a great friend and teammate of five seasons.

“That’s a great friend. We played together for 5 seasons. It’s definitely tough seeing him leave,” Zubac said, via Tomer Azarly.

He acknowledged George’s significant contributions to the Clippers’ success.

“He was a big piece. It’s gonna be hard to replicate for us, he did so much, but there’s a business side [to basketball].”

Zubac noted the difficulty of replicating George’s impact on the team.

Unfortunately, that was the best decision for him, we’re gonna miss him a lot, but we signed some new guys.”

He mentioned the Clippers signing new players to fill the void left by George.

“We got to work with what we have already and I’m sure we’re gonna have a great season.”

Currently, Zubac is playing for the Croatian national team at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus, Greece.

The Croatian team achieved a resounding victory over Luka Doncic’s Slovenia in the opening game, winning 108-92.

Zubac delivered a strong performance with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
