Jrue Holiday, now gearing up for his second NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics, recently shared his childhood allegiance to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Reflecting on the historic rivalry, Holiday stated, “I grew up a Laker fan, so I’ve seen some of those games going up against each other and the history,” via Jared Weiss.
He expressed excitement about participating in a storied Finals matchup, having admired the intensity and significance of such games since his youth.
“The battles, the intensity, you wish to be in that position. So I’m excited to see what it’s about,” Holiday said.
Holiday’s reflections come as the Celtics prepare to face the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, beginning on June 6.
The Celtics, a franchise with 17 championships, aim to add another title to their storied history.
