Golden State Warriors’ guard Gary Payton II is eager to continue his journey with the team, expressing his desire to negotiate a new deal and extend his stay in the Bay Area.

Having completed his second tenure with the Warriors, the 31-year-old guard is set to enter unrestricted free agency, but his preference is to remain in Golden State.

Payton voiced his enthusiasm about the prospect of returning to the Warriors for another season, emphasizing his willingness to work towards a mutually beneficial agreement.

“I would love to come back and run it back. Better yet, just redo my whole deal and stay here for a little bit longer. We’ll figure it out,” Payton said, per Marc J. Spears.

This season Payton averaged 5.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 15.5 minutes per game.
