The Atlanta Hawks are facing a pivotal decision ahead of the offseason, with indications suggesting they could part ways with either Trae Young or Dejounte Murray.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Hawks are contemplating their options, weighing the possibility of trading one of their star guards before the start of the next season.

Young, 25, has been a cornerstone of the Hawks’ lineup, showcasing his scoring prowess and playmaking abilities throughout the season.

With impressive averages of 26.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 10.8 assists per game, Young has solidified his status as one of the league’s top guards.

On the other hand, Murray, 27, has emerged as a dynamic playmaker for the Hawks, contributing significantly on both ends of the floor.

This season, Murray has been instrumental for Atlanta, averaging 22.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game.

Both Young and Murray are locked into long-term contracts, adding complexity to the Hawks’ decision-making process.

Young is currently in the second year of a lucrative five-year, $215 million contract, underlining his importance to the franchise’s future.

Meanwhile, Murray recently inked a four-year, $114 million extension that is set to commence next season, signaling the Hawks’ commitment to his long-term development.
