During a heated exchange in the game against the Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors’ Chris Paul found himself ejected after referee Tony Brothers took offense to being called a “TikToker” by the veteran guard.

In a postgame press conference, Paul revealed that the first technical foul was issued after he referred to Brothers as a “TikToker,” a term he used in a light-hearted manner.

“Oh man. Old Tony,” Paul smiled when asked what led to the technical fouls during postgame press conference. “He talking to me, I talked back. I called him a TikToker and I got a tech. That was the first one. I just said TikToker. Gave me a tech. Second one I just said that’s too much powers. He gave me another tech.”

Explaining his remark, Paul clarified that by calling Brothers a “TikToker,” he meant that the referee wielded significant authority on the court, akin to being the judge and jury of the game.

However, Brothers didn’t take kindly to the remark and promptly issued the technical foul, leading to Paul’s ejection from the game.

As observed by Rob Perez, Paul’s Instagram story explains his “TikToker” remark as well as calling Brothers “the judge, the jury and all that.”

Paul posted a clip from TikTok in which Brothers is giving ian nterview and says that he doesn’t care much about basketball and adds “I’m the judge, the jury, prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, everybody.”
