Anthony Edwards dropped game-high 44 points, guiding the short-handed Minnesota Timberwolves (44-19) to a hard-fought 113-111 victory over the Indiana Pacers (35-29) on Thursday night.

Despite missing All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota relied on Edwards’ heroics to secure their position atop the Western Conference standings, edging past Oklahoma City by a half-game.

Rudy Gobert added a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Naz Reid contributed 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton led the charge for the Pacers, combining for 47 points, but it was Edwards’ offensive outburst that ultimately proved decisive for the Timberwolves.

Indiana mounted a spirited comeback in the second half, erasing a double-digit deficit to briefly seize control of the game, but Edwards’ late-game heroics ensured victory for the Timberwolves.
