Brooklyn Nets’ point guard Ben Simmons will miss the remainder of the NBA season due to ongoing back issues, the team announced.

The Nets released a statement via X, indicating that the Australian will be sidelined as he seeks consultation with specialists and explores treatment options for a nerve impingement in his lower back, with a focus on long-term sustainable health.

In what has been a challenging season for Simmons, injuries have restricted the 27-year-old to just 15 games, where he posted career-low averages of 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in limited playing time.

Last season was also cut short due to back issues for Simmons, who appeared in 42 games.
