The Charlotte Hornets are actively searching for a replacement for Mitch Kupchak to head their basketball operations department. According to sources reported by Marc Stein, three frontrunners for the position include Jeff Peterson from the Brooklyn Nets, Trajan Langdon from the New Orleans Pelicans, and Matt Lloyd from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Jeff Peterson, a key figure under Sean Marks in Brooklyn, is of interest to the Nets in retaining. His prior collaboration with Hornets’ co-owner Rich Schanll during their time with the Atlanta Hawks adds to his candidacy.

Trajan Langdon has been a prominent candidate for leadership roles in decision-making capacities in the past.

Matt Lloyd, associated with the Timberwolves and previously with the Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic, is another strong contender for the position, having been one of Tim Connelly’s initial hires with the Wolves.
